      Itinerary in detail

Every Jacada trip is tailored to your personal preferences and interests. Below you’ll find a sample itinerary to inspire your own custom-designed journey.

      Days 1–4

Mérida: the capital of the Yucatán

You will fly into Cancun Airport where your driver will meet you and transfer you to Mérida, the elegant state capital of Yucatán. Mayan culture flourished on the Yucatán Peninsula for many centuries, and today Mérida is a rich blend of Indigenous and Spanish cultures. Explore the city’s ornate streets, the handsome mansions and upscale restaurants along Paseo de Montejo, and the magnificent cathedral. The city is also the gateway to outstanding Mayan ruins.

      Explore Campeche

Today you’ll explore Campeche, a charming UNESCO World Heritage port city. With your expert guide you’ll walk the historic centre’s wonderfully restored colonial quarter with its moorish-style mansions and intricate churches, all protected by impressive fortified walls that once kept pirates at bay. Outside of these inner walls, you’ll stroll the malecón (waterfront promenade) and see the old fishing docks.

      The pre-Hispanic town of Uxmal

Your private guide will pick you up for a journey to the ancient Mayan ruins of Uxmal. As you explore the site’s impressive structures deep in the jungle, your guide will share the rich history, myths and legends that bring the past to life. After a day immersed in Mexico’s pre-Columbian heritage, enjoy a private transfer back to Mérida.

      Celestún Biosphere Reserve

Explore the wonders of Celestún on the Yucatán’s Gulf Coast. Cruise through mangroves to spot flamingos and exotic birds, swim in a natural spring and visit a timeless fishing village where you’ll enjoy seafood at a beachside restaurant and have plenty of time to unwind on the golden sand.

      Days 4–6

      Charming colonial Valladolid

Valladolid is Yucatán’s most charming town, with colourful streets and a beautiful old district. The magical Cenote Zaci is right in the centre of town, not far from Casa de los Venados – home to Mexico’s largest private folk art collection. Take day trips with local experts to explore ancient Maya ruins, pristine cenotes and the Rio Lagartos with its pink flamingos.

      Valladolid at your own pace

Enjoy your time in Valladolid at your own pace. You may choose to unwind in your beautiful surroundings, take advantage of your hotel’s amenities, or explore the area further on your own. Whether you prefer to relax or stay active, your time here is entirely flexible. You might choose to head out on a private tour of Ek Balam and Valladolid (not included).

      Days 6–9

A tranquil escape to Holbox Island

Take the short ferry ride to Holbox, a chic car-free haven off the Yucatán coast where sandy streets are navigated on foot, by bicycle or in colourful golf carts. This wonderfully unspoiled and peaceful paradise in the Caribbean Sea – 40 kilometers long and just 2 kilometers wide – is protected within the Yum Balam Biosphere Reserve. Its expansive shallow lagoons create a haven for spectacular birdlife.

      Exploring Holbox Island

These days are yours to enjoy as you please. Make the most of your stunning island surrounds, enjoying all your accommodation has to offer, or head out for a spot of exploring of your own.  You can make your time here as active or relaxing as you choose.
