Our Approach

When done right, travel can transform. Our journeys have the potential to shape not just our own perspective but the places we visit and people we encounter along the way.

The question that guides us at Jacada is: what if we could do better? What if we see travel itself as a way to bring lasting and measurable positive impact?

We hold ourselves to high standards. That means considering every aspect of the journeys we arrange: how we choose our partners, how we measure our carbon footprint, how we approach our marketing – and how we seek to share knowledge across the industry, allowing us to move forward together.

Today we face a hard truth: good intentions are not enough. We need concrete frameworks and to measure success through data, accountability and long-term change.

Setting new standards

A vision for a new kind of travel starts with collaboration. We’re proud to have worked with various experts and NGOs. Among them, World Animal Protection, an NGO creating innovative solutions to help safeguard wild animals from cruelty, and ChildSafe, who work to protect vulnerable children and youth, helped develop our Positive Impact Principles.

From day one, we’ve carefully hand-selected our local partners. Favouring smaller DMCs based in-country, we’re proud to work with some incredible organisations that share our values and passion. Together we continually strive to re-evaluate our actions and choices.

Each year, our team also travel on research trips to their regions of expertise. During these trips they are required to review every part of the journey, flagging any experiences and activities that do not meet our expectations.

Joining forces to achieve global goals

When it comes to tackling global challenges, we’re stronger together. A deep commitment to responsible travel means working alongside like-minded businesses and continuing to educate ourselves on best practices, demonstrating transparency and accountability at every stage.

We’ve always believed a firm focus on cross-sector collaboration drives our ability to enact positive change, and we’re a proud member of the Conscious Travel Foundation.

Our methodology to audit and benchmark

We wanted to highlight the properties that place solving social and environmental issues at the core of their purpose and vision.

In 2024, this came to life through the launch of the Positive Impact Collection.

Initially the collection featured more than 100 properties, each meticulously evaluated and scored through our proprietary methodology. Their impact goals are strategic, large-scale and ultimately aim to transform their local area for the better.

Experiences were added in June 2025. Each one was reviewed through the lens of the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), as well as against our principles, in collaboration with partners in Asia, Europe, Africa, Latin America and the Middle East. These experiences are transformative, nonlinear and shaped by those who live them. They have been designed to tackle global challenges and address a range of critical environmental and social issues.

Committing to decarbonisation

What can’t be measured can’t be improved. That’s why we’ve started working with a third-party carbon accountancy partner to measure our carbon footprint across our supply chain, tracking emissions both in our offices and on the trips we create. Our climate action strategy through to 2030 is focused on reducing our own emissions, and supporting biodiversity.

Today, we track our carbon emissions across our supply chain, and we’ve reduced our office emissions year on year through active operational changes. We’re now assessing how to bring down our scope three emissions, the largest and most complex part of our footprint.

Building education and awareness

Raising collective awareness and advocating for change requires us to constantly listen and learn – continually adapting our approach.

Regular training and education opportunities ensure our team has a deep understanding of positive impact travel. Our Product Managers have received the official certification in Sustainable Tourism from the Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC), and are empowered to ensure that every aspect of our operations aligns with the highest  internationally recognised standards of environmental and social responsibility.

We were awarded the Queer Destinations Committed Distinction in 2025, an international standard for safety, quality and excellence for LGBTQ+ travellers.

Meaningful journeys

No matter where in the world we go, our trips have the power to drive lasting, positive change.

Exceptional journeys can also support both local communities and conservation.
