Explore epic landscapes and ancient cultures on a luxury Bolivia tour

Bolivia has some of the most dramatically diverse in Latin America. With Jacada, luxury travel to Bolivia means meeting with expert local guides to traverse Andean highlands, the Amazon jungle, expansive plains and thousands of square miles of salt flats.

Our Bolivia private tours are completely bespoke, and detail orientated. You will visit renowned locations: the world’s highest navigable lake of Lake Titicaca and La Paz, the world’s highest capital city.

Then journey a little further. Perhaps stopping off for lunch at ancient ruins that pre-date the Incas, before falling asleep to the sound of spider monkeys in the Amazon rainforest.

Marvel at the shimmering Uyuni Salt Flats that stretch as far as the eye can see. Spot flocks of flamingos in the colourful waters of the volcanic lagoons and then embark on a trek through the Maragua crater’s awe-inspiring landscape near Sucre

Learn about Bolivia’s arts and culture on guided walks through the cobbled streets of Santa Cruz. Take time to peruse the traditional markets, visit a traditional craft workshop and listen as your guide explains the history of Catedral de Santa Cruz. Finish your day with a traditional coffee in a small cafe in the central plaza.

Speak with your travel designer who will share their deep knowledge of Bolivia, curating the perfect adventure for you. They can also explain how to combine Peru or Chile – or both – with your Bolivia adventure for rich and varied experiences of different lodgings, culture and terrain.

Highlights

Visit la Recoleta, a Franciscan monastery that is now a museum housing some of Sucre’s most impressive religious artefacts

Traverse the surreal and magical Uyuni Salt Flats,  visiting the Ojos del Mar and Colchani sites and stopping for numerous photo opportunities

Spend time with the pre-Incan Aymaran people who still live near Lake Titicaca today and learn about their spiritual connection to the lake

Take a day trip from Sucre to the astounding Maragua Crater, with a stop at the Church of Chataquila along the way to delve into its history

Bolivia has some of the most epic scenery in South America. Visiting Salar de Uyuni is like being on another planet with a never ending blanket of white interspersed with beautiful volcanoes and bright, multi-coloured lakes. In the wet season it’s hard to distinguish where the sky and land meet.

When to visit Bolivia

May to October is the best time to visit Bolivia, as dry weather and warmer temperatures are the norm. The Bolivian winter and the highlands are usually very cold, with temperatures dropping below freezing in the desert at night, particularly in June and July.

The dry season from April to October is good for sightseeing, trekking, mountain biking and other outdoor activities in the highlands. But if you’re there from November to March, you’ll have the opportunity to see the flooded Salar de Uyuni appearing like a giant mirror and enjoy the lush Amazon scenery.
