Stunning scenery, rich history and strong culture

Boasting historic castles, vibrant cities and some of the United Kingdom’s most spectacular scenery, Scotland is an endlessly intriguing destination. There’s so much to see and do. Go sightseeing in Edinburgh and hiking through the Highlands, then set sail for island hopping to explore the idyllic west coast. You can discover the rugged beauty of Aviemore and the Cairngorms, visit Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park or dive into Glasgow’s thriving arts and cultural scene.

For lovers of the outdoors, Scotland promises epic scenery, a wealth of wildlife and endless opportunities to get active amid incredible landscapes. The Scottish Highlands are particularly noteworthy thanks to their soaring peaks, vast lochs and rolling moors. Take to the trails on a hiking expedition and enjoy incredible vistas as you climb. Then, admire the heather-clad hills from the comfort of a luxury train, or hop on a bicycle and explore tracks that lead you deep into the wilderness.

Our travel designers have a real passion for this part of the world, and with a tremendous amount of first-hand expereince, can help you craft your ideal itinerary. They know where to find a hidden sauna in the middle of nowhere after a wild swim, and where to eat the best haggis and steaming bowl of creamy cullen skink (seafood soup). Not to mention where to go for a wee dram (a bit of whisky) and recommendations for cafes that serve up the unmissable tablet (a sugary sweet).

When to visit Scotland

Depending on where you want to go, Scotland can be a year-round destination, but spring and autumn are particularly pleasant.

May–June and September–October are especially pretty as the wildflowers and heather are at their best. These months also fall on either side of the summer holiday surge in domestic visitors.

Rain might make an appearance at any time of year, and weather in the Highlands can be unpredictable.
