Discover the rich flavours of Sardinia

Relax on blissful beaches and explore the rugged interior

With exquisite beaches lapped by crystal-clear waters, stunning scenery and its own unique identity – Sardinia, off the west coast of Italy, is the second largest island in the Mediterranean. The people who call it home are fiercely proud of their idyllic slice of paradise, and you’ll discover exactly why on a private tour of Sardinia with Jacada.

One of Sardinia’s main draws is its beaches. Our favourite way to discover the sparkling seas of the Golfo di Orosei is with a private speedboat tour from Cala Gonone, during which you can explore the rock formations of ancient sea caves. The famous Costa Smeralda is undeniably beautiful, but the areas of Costa del Sud, Stintino and Costa verde present fierce competition, showcasing rocky coves, secluded bays and white sands.

The island’s interior is filled with thick forests and mountain ranges, karst springs, valleys, caves and canyons. Sardinia’s three national parks – Gennargentu, Asinara and the Maddalena Archipelago – are ripe for exploring. Evidence of Sardinia’s Indigenous Nuraghic culture can also be seen throughout Asinara, as well as influences from Roman, Catalan and Carthaginian history.

The country’s status as one of the world’s five original Blue Zones, is in part attributed to their healthy Mediterranean cuisine. Unlock the secrets of this population’s longevity on a private culinary immersion, with wine making and pasta dishes that nourish the soul as much as the body. When to visit Sardinia

The best time to visit Sardinia is during the shoulder season months of April to June and September to October. These months present pleasant weather, ideal for exploring the cities or hiking, and still warm enough to swim, without the intense heat of summer. In September, for example, average daytime temperatures can reach up to 28°C (82°F), with sea temperatures around 24°C (75°F).

Winter ( November to March) is off-season, and it’s important to consider that some services on the island will close during these months due to lessened demand.
