Discover art, history, design and glamour on the French Riviera

The French Riviera, also known as the Côte d’Azur, is a beautiful section of France’s Mediterranean coastline. It stretches from the Italian border westward via the state of Monaco, Nice, Cannes and Saint-Tropez to the port of Toulon.

Our expert team will pair you up with a private guide who will introduce you to the many facets of this region: history, art, culture, design, architecture. And the glamour. Your concierge will make sure you have reservations at the best restaurants and beach clubs, and your travel designer will create a luxury French Riviera itinerary you’ll talk about for years.

Some of the French Riviera’s history is intertwined with celebrity and glamour. This began in the 1950s when celebrities such as Brigitte Bardot and Coco Chanel would visit Saint-Tropez. Before long, the small fishing town was replete with sophisticated restaurants, boutiques and hotels.

Witness the bright stained glass of the Matisse Chapel, in the town of Vence, designed by Henri Matisse. With a private guide visit the Marc Chagall Museum in Nice to see over 400 paintings, gouaches and drawings. Then dip into the countryside and stop in at traditional château, sip Côtes de Provence wines and learn about its production. In Nice, take a gourmet walking tour with a regional food specialist, tasting delicacies like pissaladière (caramelized onion tart), and tourte de blettes (a sweet pie with a surprise ingredient).

Beyond the glamour, discover the history, art and gourmet secrets of the French Riviera. Contact us now to begin your personalised journey to the Côte d’Azur.

When to visit the French Riviera

If you’re visiting to spend time on the beautiful beaches of this part of the French coastline, then aim for June to September. The weather at this time of year is warm and sunny.  It can get quite busy though during July and August, and hot.

April and May are also great months to visit particularly for exploring the countryside, enjoying walking city tours and experiencing French culture. Temperatures are a little cooler at this time so it’s more comfortable to be outside and active. These are also spring months so the landscapes are beautiful with blooming flowers.
