You don’t often use the word ‘trendy’ to describe a safari lodge but Ecca, with its funky 1950s-style suites, pop art, vibrant flashes of colour, seamless architectural lines and pagoda-style corrugated iron roof, really is.

Six rooms are surrounded by wraparound timber decking, private plunge pools and a scenery of Kwandwe Private Game Reserve’s rolling hills thick with acacia and aloe trees.

The main area has a sitting room, indoor and outdoor dining spaces, fireplace, bar and an infinity pool.
