Mboko Lodge

Riverside relaxation and wildlife sightings
Wide view of Mboko Lodge, set on a wide grassy plain next to a river and forest

An inviting escape on the banks of the Lekoli River

The natural environment around Mboko Lodge is a testament to the vast variety of landscapes you’ll find in the Republic of the Congo. Here grassy plains meet lush forests and the tranquil waters of the Lekoli River, giving you the chance to experience three different ecosystems – and the unique wildlife of each – during your stay.

Embark on river cruises to see families of elephants and buffaloes hanging out on shore; spot playful monkeys in the trees surrounding your room; and keep your eyes peeled for spotted hyenas slinking around the outskirts of the lodge. You can also kayak through labyrinthine waterways or explore the surrounding savannahs on foot alongside an expert guide.

Mboko Lodge’s six chalets are tucked into the treeline, enveloped by lush foliage on one side and overlooking the grasslands on the other. Some also offer views of the river. The communal pavilion is set in the centre of a wide open plain, providing a scenic setting for meals, drinks and fireside conversations with your fellow travellers and local hosts.

Located in the southern part of Odzala-Kokoua National Park, Mboko is within easy reach of the other Kamba properties – creating an irresistible opportunity to combine its riverside beauty with the dense forests of Ngaga Lodge and the beautiful baï of Lango Lodge.
