Unwind on beautiful beaches, savour delicious food and visit ornate temples on a luxury honeymoon in Thailand

With its idyllic islands, fantastic food, rich culture and warm hospitality, Thailand is a fabulous destination for couples. Our travel designers can craft a personalised Thailand honeymoon itinerary that takes you to all the most romantic, adventurous and relaxing spots.

In the metropolis of Bangkok, we’ll pair you with expert private guides to explore the city. You can sample flavoursome street food, glide along the canals on a traditional longtail boat, and admire the intricate, glinting spire of Wat Arun (the Temple of Dawn).

Further north, in Chiang Mai, there are plenty of opportunities to immerse yourself in the local culture and stunning scenery. Take a Thai cooking class for two. Hike through the lush forest of Doi Inthanon National Park to see cascading waterfalls. Or learn traditional meditation techniques from a Buddhist monk at one of the region’s over 300 temples.

And no trip to Thailand would be complete without spending some time on the coast. Koh Yao Noi offers secluded stretches of golden sand and tangled mangroves. Koh Phangan is a haven of lush jungle and hidden coves. And a Koh Samui honeymoon could take you to the beaches, lagoons and towering limestone karsts of Ang Thong National Marine Park.

We can arrange a private snorkelling trip to kaleidoscopic coral reefs in Phuket or charter a boat to take the two of you to Phang Nga Bay or the Phi Phi islands. We’ll also recommend the best hotels in Thailand for honeymooners, including secluded beach villas, boutique rural hideaways, and sleek city centre properties. Highlights

Hop into a tuk-tuk for a guided culinary tour of Bangkok for two, sampling delicious local dishes like nutty pad thai and sweet mango sticky rice.

Soar above Chiang Mai on a romantic hot air balloon ride and watch the sun rise over temple roofs, rice paddies and the winding Ping River.

Take a private evening tour of Phang Nga Bay’s limestone sea caves and hidden lagoons by canoe, paddling through water glowing with bioluminescence.

Create your own piece of gilded artwork at a Lai Rod Nam art class and learn a traditional water-rinsed gold leaf technique used to decorate temples.

Snorkel in the warm turquoise waters of the Andaman Sea on a private trip to observe coral reefs teeming with fish and other marine life.

Thailand is an incredible place for a honeymoon and there are beautiful properties to ensure a secluded romantic stay. The best moments can’t always be planned and one evening while in Thailand, my boyfriend and I took a late night dip in the ocean and were lucky to enough to have the magical experience of phosphorescence lighting our way as we swam. It was an unforgettable evening.

When to honeymoon in Thailand

The best time for a luxury honeymoon in Thailand is during the cool and dry season. For cities like Bangkok and Chiang Mai, that’s between November and February. During these months, temperatures are pleasant, humidity is low and rainfall is minimal.

Further south, between January and March is the ideal time for island hopping on the east coast. That includes visiting Koh Samui, Koh Phangan and Koh Tao. For destinations on the west coast, like Krabi and Phuket, November to April brings warm weather, sunny days and calm seas.
